James Joseph Green was born on 25th November 1845, in Perth. The sixth child to George and Jane.
James grew up in Perth and attended Perth School.
James discovered his older brother William Green's body [see 2.] after he had drowned in 1880.
On the 27th of July 1869, James Joseph Green had acquired Perth Lots Y68, Y69, and Y74, at a Public Auction for six pounds each.
James married Mary Elizabeth Mews (born on the 10th of January 1848, in Perth). The eldest daughter of John Charles and Elizabeth Mews.
Her father, John Mews had arrived in WA as a boy, with his parents, on the "Rockingham" in 1830.
James and Mary were married on the 6th of March 1871, in St Mathews Church of Christ, Guildford. (Marriage Reg. No.3226/1871). 6.1 Walter James Green was born on the 22nd of January 1873, in Hay Street, Perth. (Birth Reg. No.14521/1873) He was christened on the 2nd of March 1873. His grandfather, George Green died when Walter was one year old during December 1874.
Walter married Elizabeth Agnes Trigwell (born on the 14th of June 1875). They were married on Tuesday afternoon, the 22nd of October 1895, at Preston, in Donnybrook. (Marriage Reg. 487/1895) Walter was living in Perth. Walter's sister 19-year-old Alice Green [6.3] was a bridesmaid.
After they were married, they headed for Bunbury. Later, they lived in West Perth. |

6.1.1 Roy James Cecil Green was born on the 25th of August 1896, in Perth.
Roy grew up, lived at Wickepin. He then joined the AIF. He served in the 27th Battalion.

Roy married Ruby Euphemia McCracken (born 1898) on Wednesday, the 1st of June 1921, at Wickepin.

This was a double wedding involving two female cousins, Ruby and Lily McCracken.
The two couples were married in the same Wickepin Returned Servicemen Hall decorated as a church.
Roy and Ruby went on to live in George Street, Queens Park, and had four children.

He married Marie Dunbar on the 24th of August 1946, Marie was the daughter of Mr. J.S. Dunbar, Victoria Park.

Percy married Christina (Chrissie) Hay. The daughter of William Hay. Christina was born on the 22nd of February 1888, in Scotland.
Percy's father had died three years before, in 1907.

They went to live at Korrelocking. (Korrelocking is a small town situated between Wyalkatchem and Trayning in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.)

Five months after his sister Hilda had died. Ernest George Green died in Perth, on the 8th of January 1890, aged one year, four months old. (Death Reg. 007/1890) His body was buried in East Perth Cemeteries. |
1900's
As a result of gold rush immigration in one decade, the population of the city tripled, from 8,447 in 1891 to 27,553 in 1901. By the beginning of the twentieth century, Perth was totally transformed. Its streets were lined with elaborately styled multi-storey buildings, many of which were designed by members of a now large architectural profession, and the population had spilled over into new suburbs that encircled the city.
Mr and Mrs James Joseph Green lived in Havelock Street, West Perth.
James Joseph Green died on the 31st of March 1907, in West Perth, aged 61 years. He was interred in the Wesley section of the Karrakatta Cemetary on the 2nd of April 1907. He was previously living at 'Emeraldine', 89 Havelock Street, in West Perth. His widow, Mary Elizabeth Green (nee Mews) survived him by many years died on the 27th of April 1918, in West Perth.
