Elizabeth Rowland
Elizabeth Rowland (we will call her the 2nd “Elizabeth Rowland” in the Colony) was born on the Peninsula on August 20th, 1841. The Compulsory Civil Registration of Births, Deaths, and Marriages in the Western Australian Colony commenced shortly after on September 9th, 1841. Elizabeth’s birth was then registered, in Perth, on that day. Her Birth Certificate bares the number 006/1841.
It is from this birth certificate that we learn that her mother, Elizabeth (Richard’s wife) was deemed as 'illiterate'. |
